Friend, Let me guess, your plate is running over? You find it more difficult each day and each week to get the simple things done because the list somehow grew and we still only have 24 hours in each day? Is that you? Or, are you in a relationship
problem with a family member, a friend, or spouse?
Going
through a separation or divorce? Do you have a wayward child, or do you just have a child that drives you nuts? Is someone on drugs, an eating disorder or some other addiction? Or are you hurting financially and see no way out? It could be a health issue you’re concerned about. You need to get healing. And then on top of it all, do you ever just feel angry with God and others around you because it just feels like they don’t care? But, you hold it inside because it’s just not somehow acceptable to be so truthful and honest about what’s going on in your heart, not to mention your head. You’re not alone. The dilemma is, we don’t know what to do about it. We don’t know where to eliminate. It all seems vital and necessary to attend to. And then there are the guilt feelings because you can’t perform magically and make it all better. It’s like we just can’t be perfect enough to please everyone.
I believe this website will help you. Isaiah 40: 28 says, “...the everlasting God, the Creator of the farthest parts of the earth, never grows faint or weary? No one can fathom the depths of his understanding.” You say, “Fine and good but how does that help me?” Verse 29 says, “ He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.” You mean He shares his power, strength and understanding?” “How do I get that?” God willingly shares these things with his people. I want to share with you how to get the words of God out of the Bible and apply them, powerfully, to your life,
so things
will work! That’s the key. You say, “Well, if I don’t have the time, and/or energy to complete the tasks I need to during the day, how will I find the time to listen to you?” And, “Why will listening to you even be something I should consider squeezing into my schedule?” Here’s the answer:
I’ve discovered that no matter what we need to accomplish in life, that without receiving three things on a pretty steady basis, nothing we do seems to work real well. Those three things are; exhortation, edification and comfort. Take edification, according to Webster, that means to get instruction and information to improve, especially spiritually; also to enlighten in moral and religious knowledge. I love to grow and learn. I think most of us do. Well, we know that the Bible has oodles of instruction and knowledge to guide us, but who has the time to read it for hours every day? I do. I take the time, because that’s what I do, and my delight is to share it with you, in simplicity.
What about exhortation? Webster’s tells us that to exhort is to urge earnestly or strongly, to encourage and incite to put things into motion. Who does that for you? Who encourages you to be all you can be? The Bible gives encouragement, warnings for our safety, appeals intended to help us take out the kinks and make life work. So, we know the Bible exhorts us, but how many have the time to extract the words of wisdom, the medicine for our souls? Let this website be one source of encouragement and strength for you, friend.
And then, third, but not least, we all need comfort at some time or another. The words in the Bible give us comfort when we’re hurting, hope when we’re discouraged or down and it gives satisfaction, understanding, a feeling of relief by telling us what we do that’s right. It imparts words of strength, cheer and joy, to keep us going through the tough times. Psalms is a great place to be for comfort.
I would encourage you that the Bible is our manual for all of life. Every answer lies somewhere between Genesis and Revelation. And these three things that we all need, information, encouragement and hope are found in abundance in the Bible. Do you have time to read it diligently, every day? Do you understand what you read and know how to apply it to the circumstances in your life? Are the people around you challenging you and encouraging you to reach out with the gifts God gave you and be all you can be? Or, do you even know what your gifts are? Do you look at other people’s gifts and feel
short-changed? I want you to see the great potential and abilities God has gifted YOU with? I’ll show you how to recognize these things.
Initially, I thought this website would be an avenue to speak just to Christians ,not because that was my thought, but because I somehow thought that non-Christians wouldn’t be interested. But, it was dropped in my spirit that God would send both Christian and non-Christian to listen. He said, ‘Those who won’t enter a church or pick up a Bible feel justified, valid or not, they have reasons that matter to them. They will find this site encouraging because we’re not down on non-Christians. My Bible says, God loves us all.
So, why should you listen to me? I’m not a pastor. I love to teach. I love to exhort, edify and comfort. My hope is that by tuning into the messages on this site, you will come to know God as a personal friend, helper, comforter, teacher and yes, savior, because he is, and so much more. My desire is that you will be able to go away feeling his presence in your life and knowing for certain that he cares for you personally.
Now, why would I be able to impart any of this to you, my friend? First off, I’m only one of many numbers who can. But the answer is because God speaks to those who spend a lot of time with him. Think for a minute about the people who are closest to you. Now, think of one who is closer than all the rest. Isn’t the reason why they are close is that you spend the most time with them? It’s the same with God. God shares in his word, “Draw nigh unto me and I’ll draw nigh unto you.” It’s true. But we must draw near first, in most cases. And there’s reasons why. I want to share with you the things in God’s word in a way that you will be able to daily apply it to your life’s problems and circumstances. I want you to see God move in a way, in your life, that you’ve only read he moves for others. Because he will.
That’s what this website is all about. The messages will be short enough that you’ll have the time to receive them, but my hope is that you’ll walk away renewed, filled with knowledge, joy, encouragement and hope.
