Baptism is mentioned in the Bible as water Baptism and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. True believers have an inward desire to be baptized. Christ left us this example when he had John the Baptist baptize him, he instructed us to follow this example. Being obedient to water baptism helps us identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God that all believers are entitled to. Those who accept and receive this gift are empowered to develop the character of Christ, power for service and the work of the ministry.
Matthew 28:19 | Matthew 3:13 | Romans 6:4 | Matthew 3:11 | Acts 1:4-8 | Acts 2:4
All believers have been given spiritual gifts. It’s up to us whether we choose to discover and use these gifts. They are to be used to strengthen God’s people (the church). God chooses to manifest Himself through the gifts of His Spirit. These gifts are still relevant and active today.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 | 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 | 1 Peter 4:10
Divine healing is still active in the lives of people today. Jesus was continually concerned with the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration of those around him. There’s no evidence in scripture that when Jesus ascended he instructed his disciples that he no longer chose to leave us an avenue of healing and deliverance. In fact, quite to the contrary.
Isaiah 53:4-5 | Matthew 8:17 | Matthew 9:35 | Matthew 10:1 | Luke 9:11 | Acts 10:38 | Mark 16:14-20
The Bible describes hell as a real place, not fictional. Heaven and hell are choices we make individually. We either want permanent friendship and presence with God or we choose permanent separation from God. Romans Chapter one explains that there are no true atheists. Romans 1:19 says, “For the truth about God is known to them (humans) instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts, so they will have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgment Day.” Vs. 21, “They knew about Him, but they wouldn’t admit it.” Hell is for those who die without accepting Christ. God’s desire is that no one be separated from Him, which is why he sent his Son, Jesus Christ to earth.
Romans 1:18-22 | Hebrews 9:27 | John 3:16-18 | Revelation 20:12-15
The hope of the church is the return of Jesus and the resurrection of his saints. All those who have accepted Jesus as Savior will spend eternity with him in heaven.
